WHY IT IS IMPORTANCE OF HAVING LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT CULTURE WITHIN YOUR ORGANIZATION

In modern context every business are facing so many problems when they doing their business with the outside world, becouers it is full with challengers, obstracuelt, and failiyers if it is so organizations think of to overcome this situation if they want to survive in the business world, then they need to think about the new way of innovations and the appley the new technology into the business, to apply this they need to develop or increases the knowledge or capacity of there people, this is the where they need to think about the importance of the developing of the learning and development organizational culture within the organization. this is a long term strategy.

The essence of organizational learning is the organisation’s ability to use the amazing mental capacity of all its members to create the kind of processes that will improve its own”- Nancy Dixon (1994)

A Learning Organisation is one that consciously manages its learning processes through an inquiry-driven orientation among all its members”- Kim D. (1992)

A Learning Company is an organization that facilitates the learning of all its members and continually transforms itself”- M. Pedley, J. Burgoyne and Tom Boydell (1991)

Organisations where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire when new and expensive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning to learn together”- Peter Senge (1990)

The benefit of creating a learning organization

  1. Increases employee job satisfaction
  2. lower turnover rate
  3. Increased production, profit, efficiency
  4. Developing leaders at all level
  5. Enhanced adaptability the organization

Chrarestrestic of learning organization

  • Promoting investigation and dialogue.
  • The organization must have a collective organizational culture.
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Life long learning mindset.
  • The transfer of information and knowledge from outside the organization.
  • There should be room for mental innovation.
  • Forward-thinking leadership.
  • Supporting the development of the group vision centering the development of the organization on human resources development strategy of the organization.
  • Organization need to create an environment for learning about the new thinking for everyone learning from one’s own experiences and from others.
  • Establishing a link between individual and organizational performance using training to reach goals.
  • Build an organizational environment that encourages each employee to learn and develop their full potential.
  • Introducing & Encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and team learning.
  • Building systems for learning and distributing learning.
  • Experimenting with new ideas.
  • Valuing the link between the organization and the environment.
The Three Types of Learning

Argrys and Schon (1996) identify three levels of learning which may be present in the organization:

  • Single-Loop Learning: Consists of one feedback loop when the strategy is modified in response to an unexpected result (error correction). E.g. when sales are down, marketing managers inquire into the cause and tweak the strategy to try to bring sales back on track.
  • Double-Loop Learning: Learning that results in a change in theory-in-use. The values, strategies, and assumptions that govern the action are changed to create a more efficient environment. In the above example, managers might rethink the entire marketing or sales process so that there will be no (or fewer) such fluctuations in the future.
  • Triple-Loop Learning: Learning about improving the learning system itself. This is composed of structural and behavioral components that determine how learning takes place. we learn how to learn by reflecting on how we learned in the first place essentially triple-loop learning is, therefore "learning how to learn''.

Conclusion

Converting an organization to a learning organization is not a one day process it is a long one but due to modern complexity and advancement of new technology, we need to do it very soon if we need to survive in this situation., we need to have a clear new vision of where we are moving forward as an organization, because when the organization tern down to learning organization it creating a new learning environment to people that get  the knowledge .in this situation people way of thinking is very significant..the tree theory is one of the modern  learning theory
