Human Resource Leadership in Covid-19 Pandamic Situation
Every business and companies have a critical role to play when situations like this arise. The Government has a vital role to play when protecting and maintaining the health of the people and their human rights, the business has an important role to play in addressing the health and economic impacts of this crisis situation. Businesses of all sizes must act responsibly to do no harm, care for employees, and allow the government to do their job in protecting people. Companies need to do a lot of adjustments to their business model if they want to work along with -COVID-19. They need to engage with employees more than ever if they need to get through this critical time. The employees might struggle with feelings of uncertainty, isolation, not being in the know and more. With social distancing being implemented and practised, it is difficult to comply with standards, methods of process, policies & engagements. so this will challenge for HR professionals. so let's talk about five actions need to take as an HR leader to overcome these issues.
01. Build trust and keep listening to them.
Covid is one of the biggest human tragedy faced by us in this century. Due to this pandemic situation, people are experiencing frustration, unusual levels of disruption in their lives and communities, as well as in their jobs. So as an HR leader in the organization we must step down, and take more concern on our employee's issues in a positive manner because in any organization human is the main filler that organization holding on so we need to be responsible on their problems like safety, health issues and working conditions in the side of the organization, we need to build good working condition that they think organization concern on their safety first .and build that trust organization leadership always step forward to secure their safety. we need to let them feel that they are not alone and stabilize their income so they can stabilize organization income back.
02. Focus on workforce effectiveness and well-being.
For decades, need-based theories of motivation have emphasized the importance of need fulfilment on employee motivation and behaviour. Applied to employee experience management, organizations should seek to address the most critical, prominent needs of the broader workforce while taking stock of unique needs of different segments and individuals. Our research found a strong correspondence between employees’ stated needs and the underlying drivers of their engagement, well-being, and work effectiveness.
03. Providing valuable information to our employee.
As we know covid is a global pandemic situation, as an HRM team, we need to give our employees most important, up to date and reliable information, so that they can survive in this situation along with protecting their families. safety action they need to take and how they need to behave responsible manner in the outside of the company because employee safety matters a lot to the company always, awareness programmes we conducting to educate the danger of this situation to them and their family.
04. Supporting to maintain good mental health.
As we all know during this kind of situation we all need to maintain our physical health well, but in a modern context as an HR employee, we all believe that mental health of any person also more important as well as physical health, then only a person can get a good result from himself. So same as our employee mental health also need to maintain at a good level if we need to overcome this kind of situation as an organization.
05. Recouerdnizing and rewarding.
As an HRM team, we need to recognize the effort and contribution that they are providing in this kind of time and we need to motivate these people at the same time giving a positive signal to other employees to change their behaviours and believes that they need to change, this rewarding or recognition can be done in several ways other than the money (development opportunity, acknowledgement, low cost peeks...etc). this will help the organization short run and long run also.
In the present situation, a very good idea has been put forward. The private sector is active but public servants are interested in staying home on certain conditions that the government takes in such a crisis situation because unlike in the private sector, the benefits are the same whether they go to work in the public sector or not.

DeleteConsidering current situation, HR professionals and the role that they plays moving forward is that, in our world the focus tended to be on pay, now I believe health and wellness benefits are going to be a game changer.
ReplyDeleteOur entire health care system, particularly in the U.S is going to evolve with the private sector and the public sector communities working to fix what seems to be a relatively broken system. That's going to change the role of HR professionals in the foreseeable future.
